5 Ways to Help Your Body Detox

Hydrate

Hydration is crucial for life; we can live without food for weeks but a maximum of only 3 days* without water (*this will vary and is dependent on environment, age, gender, activity level etc).

Water is involved in almost every essential function throughout the body. It helps regulate body temperature and can even help you think better. It keeps blood fluid and not sticky and works very hard at flushing wastes through the kidneys; no wonder it is essential.

Don't like plain water? Try adding a squeeze of fresh lemon. This not only makes it taste great but can help digestion and kick start the liver. You could even try drinking a cold or hot herbal tea

Eat lots of fruit and vegetables

Fruits and Vegetables contain many micronutrients that our body and Liver needs to help the liver (and other organs) working like a well-oiled machine. The more colours you have, the more varied nutrients you will receive. Most fruits and vegetables also contain a lot of water and as we have seen water is essential. These fruits and vegetables also contain fibre which is essential in aiding elimination of wastes.

Eat Clean to Keep Your Body Healthy

Drink a lot of Herbal Tea

Herbal Tea contains high levels of antioxidants that help to clean up the system by removing free radicals. Herbal Tea is also extremely hydrating.

Hydration as we have seen is key to flushing out toxins from the system and flushing them out of the body (see tip 1)

Bitter herbs like that in green tea, stimulate digestive secretions, increase the breakdown of fats, while aiding in flushing wastes out of the system contributing to a detox effect.

Sweat it out

Sweating is the body's natural way of helping to control body temperature, however studies have shown that, that's not all it can do. Sweating has been shown to help the body rid toxins from the body including phthalates, BPA (both toxic plastics), heavy metals like cadmium, lead, and mercury. Some of these trace minerals have shown to be only eliminated through sweat, as when tested, blood and urine did not show signs of the trace metals while sweat did. So, exercise to bring up a sweat of frequent a sauna or infra-red sauna to eliminate your bodies level of toxins.

Exfoliate your skin

 Exfoliate your skin

When the liver becomes overloaded it recruits other organs to help detoxify the system, skin being the major organ (as seen in tip 4).

Dry brushing is a great way to clear the skin of excess debris and pollutants. Dry brushing also increases the bodies circulation, this is good news because increased circulation helps the body eliminate excess toxins. When the skin is clear it can work more effectively at helping the Liver remove excess build up.

CONCLUSION

Detoxing is a very effective way of helping the liver to eliminate a heavy burden put on the liver. Yes, the Liver is excellent at its job of removing toxic elements, however in today's heavily chemically toxic world, even the liver needs some help.

Adopting the tips outlined in this download you give your liver every opportunity to help remove a backlog of toxins (the fat storage system locks up excess toxins to be dealt with at a later date) Helping to remove any burden on the body is ALWAYS going to be of benefit in keeping the body in tip top shape. So go on, get sweating, drink at least 2 litres of water, dry brush your skin (you will thank us), include yummy antioxidant and bitter response herbs (which don’t always actually taste bitter by the way) and include beautifully vibrant and colourful fruits and veggies into your day, and we guarantee you WILL notice a spectacular difference. Cheers (with water in a wine glass) to a happy, healthy, vibrant looking you!!
